ABOUT JASON
The Family Man
I do not wish any harm or sadness on my children, but every life brings it. I do hope that through their trials and tribulations, they become good people - strong and virtuous, like the folds of a good Damascus steel sword.

The Husband
What brought Jason the most happiness was being with his kids and family. As a husband, he was thoughtful and loving. What I miss most are the simple things in life we enjoyed together. I am forever grateful that I first fell in love with him when I was 14, and later we were able to rekindle our relationship, which blessed me with getting to spend the last days of his life with him.

In my dad's eyes, I was his Pearl. To me, he was my hero. He always knew what to say when I was feeling down and never failed to make me giggle. He was my comfort person. I know now the importance of treating people the way you want to be treated and to never take the people you love for granted. I will forever miss going to Guthrie riding four-wheelers, waking up in the morning to the smell of little smokies and fresh coffee and everything in between. As much as I want my dad here, I know he would want me to live my life to the absolute fullest.

My dad was a selfless man who only lived for others. He worked exceptionally hard to give me and my sister a great life. I will always remember him pushing me to be my best in sports and my studies. Guthrie will always have a big piece of my heart because he would take me out fishing there since I could even remember. He taught me to respect others and cherish the memories we make along the way. Growing up with him in my life was definitely a catalyst in my journey of maturation.

Jason was my stepfather, but he really did treat me like his own. He was the most selfless, kind-hearted, and gentle-spirited man. If you knew him, you would probably describe him with similar adjectives. He always made it a point to be at my school activities, text me when I had not seen him in a while, and genuinely wanted to know how I was doing! I miss him every day and would love just one day back with him.

Jason, to me, was who I wanted to be when I grew up. He was always kind to whomever he was speaking. He always put others before himself and made it a goal to please the people he was around. Jason would always take me fishing whenever I wanted and those are some of the happiest memories of my life. Jason was my best friend.
